LAMP Certificate Requirements
To earn the Certificate in Liberal Arts and Management, students admitted to the program must satisfy all general requirements for a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences, maintain a cumulative College of Arts and Sciences grade point average of 3.300 or higher, and earn a grade of C- or higher in each of the courses outlined below:
- Four courses in the College (to be completed by the end of a student’s sophomore year of study) that are basic to the study of management and other business topics (11-12 credit hours):
- Introduction to Microeconomics, ECON E201 or S201
- Introduction to Macroeconomics, ECON E202 or S202
- Finite Math, MATH M118, S118 or A118; or Brief Survey of Calculus, MATH M119; or Calculus I, Math M211; or Accelerated Calculus, MATH M213
- LAMP X298, Career Development for LAMP students
- Five or six (depending on accounting option) courses in the Kelley School of Business or approved substitutions in the College that help develop technical business skills (16 credit hours):
- Foundations of Accounting, BUS A200* OR Basic Accounting Skills, BUS-A100* AND Introduction to Accounting, BUS A201*
- The Computer in Business, BUS K201 or BUS K204 or CSCI A110*
- Legal Environment of Business, BUS L201 or BUS L293*
- Managing Business Functions, BUS X333
- Managing and Behavior in Organizations, BUS Z302 or BUS Z304
- Three LAMP seminars in the College that draw together students’ coursework in business, economics, and liberal arts (9 credit hours):
- LAMP Sophomore Seminar: Business and Humanities, LAMP L216
- LAMP Junior Seminar: Analytical Problem Solving, LAMP L316
- LAMP Senior Seminar: Liberal Arts and Management, LAMP L416
