Eric Metzler, Ph.D., joined the LAMP faculty in January 2001 as an instructor of L216, the interdisciplinary sophomore seminar focused on the intersection of business and the humanities.

His scholarly interests include narrative and drama as they intersect with various social issues such as the construction of gender, the concentration of power, and the perpetuation of violence and injustice through narrative occlusion.  He is especially interested in texts from the European Middle Ages, the Progressive Era in the United States (late 19th and early 20th centuries), and twentieth century Spanish America.  Secondary interests include gay and lesbian literature, African American literary traditions, and literary studies as they intersect with religion.

In addition to his work as an instructor for LAMP, Prof. Metzler serves as Assistant Director of Instructional Consulting in the Undergraduate Program at the Kelley School of Business.  There he focuses his efforts on the professional development of business faculty and on the organizational development of the School as one of the nation’s premier business schools.
