The Landscape Studies Ph. D. Minor Program encourages interdisciplinary study and critical analysis of landscape. The program offers training in areas such as:
- landscape aesthetics,
- urban landscape preservation and analysis,
- memory and landscape,
- sacred landscapes,
- landscape in literature,
- landscape ecology and
- landscape architecture.
The program brings together landscape scholars from Indiana University’s Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses in a single research and teaching entity and is one of a very few programs in the United States that focus explicitly on Landscape Studies at the graduate level.
