The Landscape Studies Ph. D. Minor Program encourages interdisciplinary study and critical analysis of landscape. The program offers training in areas such as:

  • landscape aesthetics,
  • urban landscape preservation and analysis,
  • memory and landscape,
  • sacred landscapes,
  • landscape in literature,
  • landscape ecology and
  • landscape architecture.

The program brings together landscape scholars from Indiana University’s Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses in a single research and teaching entity and is one of a very few programs in the United States that focus explicitly on Landscape Studies at the graduate level.
