SANS Sample Environment

The Sample Area (SA) consists of an 80cm x 90cm x 90cm plexiglass enclosure with a 71 cm diameter rotary table inside. This table can accommodate a variety of sample environment equipments, such as cryostats, closed cycle refrigerators, sample heaters, etc., depending on the particular scientific application of the SANS experiment. There will be two standard pieces of sample environment equipment available to the users: (a) a 5-position sample changer with a temperature range of 5°- 95°C, and (b) a closed cycle refrigerator (4 – 300 K). A more specific sample environment for a particular experiment has to be provided by the individual user.
