The Latino Faculty and Staff Council seek nominations for the 2005-06 Latino Service Awards. Categories include:

• Outstanding Faculty Award,
• Outstanding Staff Award, and
• Outstanding Student Award
  (may be undergraduate or graduate student)

These awards will be presented to any faculty, staff, and student member from Indiana University, Bloomington that demonstrates a commitment to promoting cross-cultural competencies and/or service to the Latino community. This award is not intended to recognize staff or faculty for their normal job duties but rather public service to the academic or general community beyond normal expectations.

Criteria

• Commitment towards outreach, support, and celebration of the Latino experience/scholarship/participation in higher education.
• Participation and/or leadership in local, state or national Latino related efforts particularly in higher education.
• Collaboration or coalition building between Latino and non-Latino communities on or off campus.
• Scholarship or other important activity on or off campus.

Mail or e-mail us a letter explaining why your nominee deserves this award using the criteria listed above along with the information requested below. Please list specific commitment, participation, collaboration and scholarship or other activities beyond their normal job duties. Successful individuals are those that meet more than one criterion. Nominations from last year will automatically be considered for the current year.

Deadline for submitting nominations is October 14 , 2005.
