THE ARTIST'S SKETCHBOOK: FACSIMILES FROM THE FINE ARTS LIBRARY & ORIGINALS FROM THE FINE ARTS FACULTY
JANUARY 18 - FEBRUARY 14, 1999
Sketchbooks can be an invaluable tool for the artist, ideal for recording observations and visualizing ideas, among other uses. A selection of original and reproduction sketchbooks are now on display in the Fine Arts Library.
The exhibit highlights a number of facsimile editions from the Fine Arts Library collection, including reproductions of sketchbooks by Paul Cezanne, Henry Moore, Egon Schiele, and others. In addition, faculty from the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts have generously loaned their private sketchbooks for the installation. Our thanks to the following faculty: Ed Bernstein, John Goodheart, Bill Itter, Dale Newkirk, and Bonnie Sklarski.
Many thanks to Bob and Sara LeBien for the loan of the facsimile sketchbook set, JACKSON POLLOCK SKETCHBOOKS IN THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART.
