*Effective February 25, Marty Chambers accepted the Document Delivery Services Assistant position in Customer and Access Services at IU Bloomington. She has worked in Customer and Access Services as Circulation and Security Unit Assistant since July of 1995.
*Effective February 28, Julia Pophal accepted the Serials Cataloger and Conversion Coordinator for Government Publications position in the Cataloging Division of Technical Services at IU Bloomington. Julia has worked mainly in name and subject authority and retrospective conversion at the IU Libraries since July 1993.
*Effective February 29, Gordana Green resigned her position as Office Services Assistant with the Library Development Office at IU Bloomington.
*Effective March 1, Yung-Rang Cheng accepted the position of Assistant to the Coordinator in the FastCat Section of Technical Services at IU Bloomington. Yung-Rang has worked in the Cataloging Division of Technical Services as East Asian Retrospective Conversion Specialist since February of 1999.
*Effective March 1, Michael Bradford accepted the Serials Conversion Cataloger position in the Lilly Library at IU Bloomington. Michael worked as an hourly employee in the Lilly Library from August 1996 to August 1999. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from IU.
*Effective March 6, Carole Williams has accepted the Receptionist/Secretary position in Library Administration at IU Bloomington. Carole has worked at the Front Desk/Hotel in the Indiana Memorial Union since August of 1987.
*Effective March 9, Steven Ingeman has accepted the Department Assistant Secretary position in Customer and Access Services at IU Bloomington. He has worked as Retrieval Supervisor with Document Delivery Services in Customer and Access Services since August of 1997.
*Andrew Ashbee and David Lasocki (with Peter Holman and Fiona Kisby), A Biographical Dictionary of English Court Musicians, 1485-1714 , 2 vols. (Aldershot, Hampshire & Brookfield, VT: Ashgate, 1998) has been awarded the C.B. Oldman Prize by the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres, United Kingdom Branch (IAML UK) for the best music reference work published in 1998. David Lasocki is Head of Reference Services in the William and Gayle Music Library, Indiana University.

Participate in this novel, interactive event and see the new features for utilizing the databases searchable from Chemical Abstracts Service via SciFinder Scholar. Included are the CAPlus, Registry, CASREACT, CHEMLIST, and CHEMCATS files. Chemistry A400 is most easily reached by taking the elevator near the Chemistry Library (CH003).

*Cross Cultural Study Workshops Using eHRAF
We are pleased to announce that Mel and Carol Ember, President and Executive Director of the Human Relations Area Files, will be visiting IU Bloomington on Monday March 20. They will be making two presentations at the library during their stay. All are welcome to attend!
"Using the Electronic Collections from the Human Relations Area Files (eHRAF)": Monday March 20, 9:30--11:30 am, Library E174. The Embers will present an introduction to HRAF and its history, and present online illustrations of search strategies for the electronic collections of Ethnography and Archaeology on the web.
"Predicting Corporal Punishment of Children: A Workshop in Cross-Cultural Research": Monday. March 20, 1:30--3:30 pm in UGL Instruction Cluster #1. This will be a hands-on workshop in using the eHRAF for cross-cultural research. Participants will retrieve and code information from a random sample of the world's cultures on the degree to which children are corporally punished.
