*Herbert S. and Virginia White Professional Development Award
The 2001-2002 White Award Committee is pleased to announce that Ellen Bosman, Head of Technical Services at IU-Northwest has been selected as the recipient of the Herbert S. and Virginia White Professional Development Award. This is the eighth year of the award established by Herbert and Virginia White to support individually motivated professional growth. The award certificate will be presented to Ellen on Librarians' Day, May 17th.
Ellen's project, A Study of Church Libraries in Australia, will focus on libraries within mainstream Protestant congregations in Australia. The White Award Committee felt her project clearly meets the award guielines to "contribute to and emphasize the growth of the individual in the library profession".

*2002 Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund Award
Ellen Bosman, Associate Librarian and Head of Technical Services at IU Northwest, has been selected to receive the 2002 Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund Award. In October 2002, Ms. Bosman will travel to Melbourne to address the Australian Church Library Association and conduct research about Australian church libraries. The Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund is sponsored by the Bogle Memorial Fund and the Pratt Institute/School of Information and Library Science. An award of $1,000 is given to an ALA member to attend their first international library conference.
