*Lecture presented by Carole Nowicke

Carole Nowicke, Indiana Prevention Center, presented a lecture on former I.U. music professor William J. Bell at the Great American Brass Band Festival at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky on June 13th. This presentation was part of a "mini tuba history conference" with musicologist Lloyd P. Farrar. The presentation included photos from the I.U. Archives collections and excerpts from oral histories which are now part of the I.U. oral history collection. Over 20 oral histories have been completed as part of the tuba-euphonium oral history project during the past two years, and those with former I.U. students or faculty members are copied for deposit in the I.U. collection as well as the main repository at the University of Maryland's Performing Arts Library.
