*Retirement Workshop, IUB

IS THIS YOU?

-You have worked here for several years and do not really understand your retirement plan.
-You receive the quarterly statement from PERF or but do not realize that there is
more to your retirement plan than what is on that statement.
-What is a tax deferred annuity and how does it work? Should I be taking advantage of it?
-I know I can make different choices under my retirement plan but I don't really understand them?
-If I'm close to retirement, who should I talk to and what information should I give that person?

IF SO,

*Ameritech Fellows Program

From TLTL about Ameritech Fellows Program...

The Ameritech Fellows program (http://amfellow.iu.edu) provides IU faculty with support for instructional projects that effectively incorporate information technology. Proposals for the fourth round of Ameritech Fellows awards are due by September 9, 2002, earlier than in previous years.

IU Bloomington faculty who plan to submit Ameritech Fellows proposals are encouraged to work with TLTL staff (or their school or unit's faculty development programs) as they develop their project proposals. TLTL can help you articulate your instructional goals, choose your technologies, and develop your budget. Should your proposal be awarded, TLTL can also provide support as you implement the project.

The Request for Proposals (http://amfellow.iu.edu/rfp.html) encourages applicants to include a letter of support from an instructional consultant at their campus teaching and learning centers with their proposal materials. In order for TLTL to provide you with an effective letter, we request that you schedule an appointment to meet with our staff during the week of August 12-16, or earlier, so that we may work with you as you develop your proposal.

*The New IUCAT

The Bloomington Unicorn Users Group is offering short demos and Q&A sessions on the new IUCAT. The test database for IUCAT is http://iucat-test.ucs.indiana.edu:12200. While much is the same in terms of functionality, there are a few differences and changes about which all library staff should know. These sessions will give people the opportunity to hear about changes, witness some sample searches, and get questions answered.

There is no need to sign up for these, but they will be held the following dates at these times in Main, E174 Conference Room. It would be a good idea if at least one person from all campus service areas attend a meeting and see firsthand the new look and upgrades.

Tuesday, August 20 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Wednesday, August 21 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Thursday, August 29 11:00 am - 12:00 noon
Wednesday, September 4 4:00 - 5:00 pm

A brief outline of what will be covered in these demos will be mailed to BL-LIBG-Support Staff, BL-LIBG-PA's, BL-LIBG-IUB Librarians. We look forward to seeing you there.
