Effective August 18, Sarah Cornell has accepted the position of Serials Procurement Coordinator, Technical Services/Acquisitions/Serials Ordering section. Prior to accepting this position, Sarah held the position of Serials Control Coordinator in the Serials Receiving section of Technical Services/Acquisitions.

*Workshop in Music Cataloging (July 28-Aug. 1)
The Workshop in Music Cataloging conducted by Ralph Papakhian and Sue Stancu (July 28-Aug. 1, 2003) at the William and Gayle Cook Music Library was fully subscribed. The ten participants came from Appalachian State University, Cleveland Institute of Music, Colorado College, Harvard University, Northern Illinois University, University of Houston, University of Kentucky, University of Maryland, University of Pennsylvania, and Western Washington University. The workshop included tours of and presentations at the Archives of Traditional Music (Suzanne Mudge), the Lilly Library (Stephen Cape), the Variations Project (Emma Dederick-Colon), and the Musical Arts Center (Tom Wieligman).

*Wylie House Hosts Basket Workshops
The Wylie House Museum Annex will be the site for four basketmaking workshops on September 5, 6, and 7. Betty Curry, whose family has been making white oak baskets for over 150 years, will come from Missouri to teach the workshops. She will also have oak baskets for sale to the public at very reasonable prices. Stop in any time during the workshops to purchase. Scroll down the page until you get to “Betty Curry Classes” and click on that for descriptions and pictures of the baskets that will be taught. The laundry basket class is already full, but there are spaces left in the other three.
