STAFF NEWS

*Charlotte Hess, from IU Bloomington, attended a workshop on the uses and capacities of information and communication technologies ("Seminario de capaciatacao em uso de Tecnologias de Informacao e comunicacao")in Beira, Mozambique, 11-15 September 2000. The workshop was organized by the World Conservation Union (IUCN) Maputo, and funded by the Ford Foundation. The week-long event brought together natural resource practitioners from several non-governmental organizations with a common interest in community-based resource management. Hess facilitated sessions on electronic information provision, design, and access.

*Effective September 28, Todson Jeffcoat accepted the Technical Services Assistant position in the Education Library at IU-Bloomington. Prior to accepting this position, Tod worked at the Monroe County Public Library. He has an MLS degree from IU.

*Effective October 5, Jonathan Herr accepted the position of Assistant Circulation Supervisor in Customer and Access Services at IU-Bloomington. Prior to accepting this position Jonathan worked at Citizens National Bank in Bluffton, Ohio. He has a Master of Music from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.

*Effective October 3, Gabriel Swift accepted the Reference/Technical Associate position in Reference at IU-Bloomington. Prior to accepting this position, Gabriel worked in Customer and Access Services. He has a BA in Criminology at IU.

*Effective September 28 Michael Arthur resigned from his position as Accounting Associate in Technical Services in the Main Library at IU-Bloomington.

*Effective September 30 Christine Wagner resigned from her position as Stacks Maintenance and Public Service Assistant in the Business/SPEA Library at IU-Bloomington.
