A special thanks goes out to the Holiday Party Committee at IU Bloomington who helped make this event festive and memorable: Paula Bremer, Penny Ramon, Ann Duncan-Gibbs, Noa Wahrman, Jane VanAuken, Brenda Stevens, Vera Heitink, Suzann Easter, Annette Carasco, Betty Andis, Dawn Arbuckle, Julie Pophal, Alex Wenner, and Kathy McCarnes. A big thank you also goes out to Mark Fedderson who played music. We would also like to thank those of you who donated food, money and door prizes. Without your donations, it would not have been such a success.
*Technical Services Move Update, IU Bloomington
The final physical merger of the Technical Services Department at IU Bloomington will take place over this semester break. The new physical arrangements are aligned with the functional organization that went into effect on April 19. Electrical and telecommunications work on the third floor should be finished by the 27th of Dec. A professional moving company is coming in the weeks of Dec. 20 and 27 to do the physical move. All persons currently on the third floor will have their desks moved and the people currently working on the ground floor (in the former Serials area) will be moved up to the third floor. For these two weeks, all phone calls will be forwarded to 855-1666 (third floor) or 855-5672 (ground floor). The new phone numbers have been posted on the web, but do not use those until after the start of the new year. The web address is: http://www.indiana.edu/~libtserv/newphones.html. During the week of the 20th, things will be somewhat hectic, but normal work will continue as much as possible. During the week of the 27th, most regular work will be suspended and we ask that people try to limit their visits to the area. For your first visits after the physical move, I suggest you stop at Ed Monroe's desk (our Admin Asst) and pick up a map of "who is sitting where." Thanks for your cooperation.

*New Coordinator at IU Bloomington
I am pleased to inform you that I have persuaded BJ Irvine to serve as Coordinator of the Humanities and Social Science Campus Libraries after Phil Bantin steps down December 31, 1999, due to time commitments related to the splendid grant he has received to study electronic record archiving. We knew that this was a possibility when he took on the coordinator's position last January, and--while I am sorry to lose his counsel--I am delighted at his winning this grant. BJ has agreed to serve from January 1, 2000 through August 31, 2000. At that time her teaching responsibilities kick in and she will revert to her Fine Arts Library commitments fulltime. My thanks to her for agreeing to serve, and to Phil for his wonderful work on the HSSCL, the Coordinators Group, and to LMT!
