1. FACULTY/STAFF NEWS

Barbara Albee, IUPUI University Libraries, did a presentation for the ALCTS Pre-Order/Pre-Catalog Discussion Group at the ALA Annual in New York. The presentation was titled: "Copyright issues become part of the pre-order process: the effects of the increasing number of video orders on Acquisitions at IUPUI." Barbara is now Chair of this group and Robin Crumrin, IUPUI University Libraries, is Vice Chair/Chair Elect.

Michele Russo, Associate Librarian and Head of Public Services at the IUSB Schurz Library, has been named Acting Director of Library Services for the 1996-97 Fiscal Year. Michele received a Master of Arts Degree in Music from Ball State University and a Master of Library Science Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington. She has been a Librarian at the Schurz Library since 1982.

Anthony C. Stamatoplos, IUPUI University Libraries, has co-authored with Robert Goehlert, The Chinese Economy, San Bernardino, CA: The Borgo Press, 1995.

Effective July 12, David Francis transferred from Access Services to the Mathematics Department.

Effective July 8, Lisa Howard joined the staff of the Fine Arts Library. Lisa's title is Senior Circulation Assistant. She comes to the Libraries from the Indianapolis Star and News. Lisa received her B.A. in English from San Jose State University in California.

Effective May 31, Faye Mark resigned her position as Reference Associate Curator in University Archives.

Effective July 8, Rebecca Moss accepted the Slide Collection Cataloger position in the Fine Arts Library. Rebecca has worked in an hourly position in the Fine Arts Library since January of this year. She received her undergraduate degree in Art History at IUPUI and is currently working on her MLS.

2. RECEPTION FOR THE NEW DEAN

Library staff and student employees are invited to join in welcoming Suzanne Thorin as the new Dean of Indiana University Libraries. The welcoming reception will be held Wednesday, July 31, 1996 in the Main Library lobby from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. There will be refreshments and entertainment.
