1. FEBRUARY FEST THIS THURSDAY!
There is just ONE WEEK until the IUB Libraries' Special Events Committee sponsors the Fifth Annual FEBRUARY FEST! Don't forget to sign up to bring a special dish. This event gives us all a chance to recognize and celebrate cultural and ethnic backgrounds of library employees, by sharing desserts and snacks from different countries, ethnic groups, and regions of the U.S.
Please help to make this event a success by contributing some special food item. Send Rachael Stoeltje an email message (RSTOELTJ) or sign up on the sheets that are going around your department. Include your name and the name and origin of your food donation.
If your department has not sent your sign up sheet back to Rachael Stoeltje in the Preservation dept., please do so now so that we can have labels made up to go with your dish.
February Fest will be held on February 6th at 3:30 PM in the Main Library's Staff Lounge. We encourage you to wear ethnic of traditional clothing to this event. If you have any question, please feel free to contact Rachael Stoeltje (5-6282) or Julie Pophal (5-4626), co-chairs of this event.

3. THE SOURCE NEWSLETTER SEEKING ARTICLE IDEAS
Dear faculty, staff, and students:
We are seeking your ideas for articles you'd like to see in the Spring issue of the IUB Libraries' newsletter, The SOURCE, which will be published in late March.
Our audience is the IU Bloomington faculty, librarians in the fifteen branch libraries and the Main Library, as well as donors who have made gifts to the libraries.
The purpose of our newsletter is to publicize upcoming events and important gifts, spotlight interesting people and departments, report on great things happening in the development of collections and technology, and to provide a forum for readers to add things of timely and special interest.
Please send us a brief description of your ideas, and we will choose the story which best fits in scope and content.
Anything related to the IU Bloomington Libraries will be considered, including: history, policies, conservation and preservation, special collections, issues related to the Internet and new technology, literacy, or personal anecdotes.
For more information please contact Margaret Parks at e-mail: maparks, or phone 855-3403.
