I am pleased to announce another recent addition to the University Archives Family. On April 27th at 12:50 pm, Brad and Emily Cook brought into this world a 6 lb. baby girl. They have named her Olivia Caroline Cook. Mother and child are doing fine. Cards and other communications can be sent to Brad and Emily at 3206 W. Tulip Ave., Bloomington, IN 47403.

2. SEARCH AND SCREEN COMMITTEE APPOINTED
The members of the search and screen committee for the Director of Technical Services position have been appointed. They are: Roger Beckman, Chemistry Library; Jo Burgess, Preservation; Yolanda Cooper-Birdine, Library Administration; Doug Freeman, Optometry Library; Marty Joachim (Chair), IOCM; Mary Strow, UGLS; and Christia Thomason, Music Library.
The Heckman Bindery, Inc. has just announced their Website. The URL is http://www.boundtoplease.com. The site contains information on the history of the bindery, products, and LARS (the automated library binding system). The Personnel page has links to staff members' e-mail addresses.

4. COMMUNICATION FORUMS SCHEDULED
Communication forums have been scheduled through December of this year. They are:

SLA Special Programs Fund
The purpose of the Special Programs Fund is to provide programs and services that will further the scientific, literary, and educational purposes for which SLA is organized and operated. Programs and services promoting these objectives may be funded and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, publications, research projects, study grants, continuing education programs, public awareness activities, special studies and reports, and information dissemination activities. An application packet is available upon request.
Both individuals and groups are eligible to apply for grants.
