Thank you, to the Library Picnic Committee for all your special efforts in making the 1998 Library Picnic a success. We would like to thank: Mark Fedderson, Emma Dederic-Colon, Erika Dowell, Betty Andis, Suzann Easter and Elaine Hehner. Thank you, also to those of you who contributed food for the picnic. 2. STAFF NEWS
Effective June 23, Sean Crittenden has accepted the half-time Senior Circulation Assistant position in the Business/SPEA Library. This is in addition to the other half-time Senior Circulation Assistant position Sean holds in the Business/SPEA Library.
Effective June 29, Lisa Giron has accepted the Administrative Secretary (Secretary to the Ruth Lilly University Dean of University Libraries) position in Library Administration. Lisa currently works for the Mallor Clendening Grodner Bohrer law firm.
Effective June 30, Yvonne Reinier is retiring from her position as Barcode Specialist in MPS.
Effective June 22, Toni Sammy accepted the Serials Control Coordinator position in Serials. Toni has worked at the Law Library since 1989 and has an MLS from IU.
The 1998 Professional Staff and Support Staff Awards for the Indiana University Libraries, Bloomington employees were announced on June 23, 1998. Erika Dowell of the Fine Arts Library received the PA Award and Spencer Anspach, formerly of Swain Hall Library, received the Support Staff Award. Three Honorable Mentions were also announced. These were Faye McKee of Geography and Maps Library and Rachael Stoeltje of Preservation in the Support Staff category and Terry Reynolds of Business/SPEA Library in the PA category. Congratulations to all for a well deserved recognition!
Kellie Kaneshiro, Associate Librarian, Ruth Lilly Medical Library, was one of thirty fellows who attended the National Library of Medicine's 1998 fellowship program in medical informatics at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. The week-long survey course is taught by a nationally known faculty and designed to familiarize individuals with the application of computer technologies and information science in medicine. The Libraries Human Resources web page is now available for your use. You will be able to view the Master Calendar and also find blank forms for PAQs, annual reviews, payroll and others. The web address is: http://www.indiana.edu/~libpers. Contact Suzann Easter for questions and updates.
The BLFC Election Committee tallied the ballots for the new members of the Bloomington Library Faculty Council for the 1998-2000 term. Congratulations to the newly elected Council members: Lois Heiser, Gary Wiggins, David Fenske and Andrea Singer. Best wishes to each for a productive term of office!

5. WORKSHOP IN MUSIC CATALOGING PARTICIPANTS
The week-long Workshop in Music Cataloging, directed by Ralph Papakhian and Sue Stancu (Cook Music Library), concluded June 26. Participants came from Nova Scotia Provincial Library (Canada), Pennsylvania State University, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Archives, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Indiana University South Bend, Online Computer Library Center (Ohio), Furman University (South Carolina), Juilliard School, Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, and Central Washington University (Washington State). The Workshop included presentations/tours at the Archives of Traditional Music (Suzanne Mudge) and the Lilly Library (Steve Cape).
