2. THANKS!
Thanks from Elizabeth Hanson, Acting Head of the Biology Library
to: Pat Steele, Marilyn Shaver, Lynn Smith, Deb Kasarda, Jim
Nichols, Steve Lettman, Jill Roberts, Kim Schwant (I appreciate
your sharing her, Linda Butler), Misty Mc Intosh, Sarah Lowery
and Elizabeth Arth for their invaluable help in maintaining
regular hours at the Medical Sciences Library during the time
there was a vacant position there. The schedule often looked
like a patchwork quilt, but the important thing is that there was
always someone there to serve our patrons! Special thanks are
due to Robert Gowin for his invaluable help with hiring, training
and scheduling.
Thanks to Julie Nilson from Library Personnel for donating her own personally-owned IBM Selectric typewriter to our office. We will put it to good use (preparing payroll documents).
3. NEWS FROM THE SERIALS DEPARTMENT
We are happy to report that the Quarterly Lists of First Issues
Received, previously sent to fund managers through the regular
mail will now be distributed electronically via E-Mail by the
Serials Department. We would like to thank Laura Gabbard,
Serials Procurement Specialist, for her extensive work in setting
up the necessary programs and tables. This new system will
deliver data in a more timely manner and provide a more
economical way for the Serials Department staff to maintain this
report. The next list is due in October.

6. INVITATION TO ALL InULA MEMBERS AND PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS
As 1995/96 President of the Indiana University Librarians
Association, it is my great pleasure to invite all InULA members
and all IU Libraries' faculty and staff, SLIS faculty and
students, and friends of the association to the annual membership
meeting and reception which will be held at my home on Friday
afternoon and evening, September 29, 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. The
address is 265 Boring Place in Martinsville, and directions are
given below.
We hope that our theme, "Advancing the profession through support of the individual," will strike a responsive chord with all current and potential InULA members, and that you will attend this first meeting to discuss, in an informal atmosphere, how we hope to make the upcoming year a professionally profitable one for all our members and how each individual may contribute to that goal.
The InULA board members hope you will join us on the 29th.
Directions to Mary Krutulis' home at 265 Boring Place, Martinsville Tel: 317-342-9681
From Bloomington and South:
Take State Road 37 North to the third light in Martinsville (S.R.
252); turn left at light and proceed to T intersection at
Phillips 66 station. Turn right at the intersection and proceed
past YMCA (on right) to wide street going uphill on left--this is
HILLVIEW Drive.
***Follow HILLVIEW up and around wide curve to left and continue left on BYRAM Blvd. (At this point Hillview goes straight, but it is pretty clear that main road continues to curve to left). Follow BYRAM to the 4-way STOP at GRASSYFORK Lane (just two short blocks). Turn right onto GRASSYFORK and follow this road downhill and uphill to 3-way ST4After stop, proceed ahead across the dam (lake on left; hatchery ponds below on right). After crossing the dam, the road continues uphill (it has now changed its name to BAILLIERE, but it's just a continuation). Go uphill to the second left (at the crest of the hill). This is BORING Place. Turn left onto BORING (can only turn left) and proceed to Y in road where you will bear right. Next driveway on left is us! You can actually see the house, or at least the trees, from the end of the street. Lots of trees and flowers; house is blue cedar on top, brick on bottom. Park across street from front of house or proceed around curve past house and park on left along grassy shoulder.
If you have any problems, just call us at 317-342-9681. See you the 29th!
From Indianapolis and North:
Go south on Ind 37 about 30 miles to the first traffic light at
Martinsville--intersection with Ind 44 (NOT 144, which you will
cross earlier at Waverly). Turn right at this first light and
proceed to STOP sign at bottom of hill. After stopping, drive
across the intersection and uphill on wide street ahead--this is
HILLVIEW Drive.
Follow directions from *** above
If you would like a map in addition to the written directions, please contact me by email (krutulis@indiana.edu) or call me at 812-855-3262 and I will send one.
