4. NEWS FROM THE SERIALS DEPT.
The Serials Cataloging Unit, Serials Department, is proud to
announce the completion of a two-part special retrospective
conversion project for the Music Library. In anticipation of the
forthcoming move to their new facility and in an effort to have
their entire serial collection reflected in IUCAT, staff in the
Music Library provided the Serials Cataloging Unit with the
following:
1.) A list of approximately 200 serial titles in a variety of formats (paper, microfilm, microfiche, microcard) currently housed in the Music Library collection which required retrospective conversion;
2.) A list of 50 serial titles identified in the Research Collection which are targeted for transfer upon completion of the new Music Library.
The staff at the Music Library did an outstanding job of providing our unit with the needed information and on-site support to complete the task. Special kudos and thanks to Lyle Neff, CONSER/NACO Cataloger, for completing the entire project within the allotted timeframe. His music and special language expertise were essential to the successful completion of this project.
