Catalogs and Publications
Catalogs
The majority of materials housed at the Archives of Traditional Music can be located using two catalogs:
IUCAT --The online catalog for Indiana University's main and regional campuses, accessible through any of the terminals located in the various main, branch, and regional libraries in the University system or via the internet. For help using and searching IUCAT, please see the Search Guide.
The Archives of Traditional Music card catalog, located in the Listening Library, Morrison Hall, Room 120. All field recordings have been cataloged in IUCAT. Commercial recordings cataloged from 1983-present are also in IUCAT. Commercial recordings cataloged before 1983 are found only in the card catalog. For a complete search on a given topic the user will want to consult both IUCAT and the ATM card catalog.
The website for the Hoagy Carmichael Collection allows users to search and browse the collection for digitized recordings and digitized images of music, photographs, correspondence, personal effects, and numerous other materials in Indiana University's Hoagy Carmichael Collection, most of which is housed at the Archives of Traditional Music. Selected recordings are available for online listening.
A listing of the Journals currently held by the Archives is also available on-line. In addition to a nice range of periodicals on world music and folklore, this collection includes numerous interesting jazz magazines from the 1940's to the present.
Latin American 78RPM Record Collection
A browsable database of over 3,000 Latin American 78RPM records is also available in-house. Plans to make this database available on-line are underway.

Resound,
table of contents, 1982-current
Resound is the current quarterly newsletter of the Archives of Traditional Music. An invaluable resource for ethnomusicologists, it covers new aquisitions at the Archives, current field recordings being made, and issues regarding the preservation of materials.
