Esta Cajita Que Toco Tiene Boca y Sabe Hablar, a film by Lorena García
This documentary film chronicles the musical tradition of coplas found in Northwest Argentina. It documents a meeting of copleras (female copla singers and drummers) who come from across the country to gather and celebrate this tradition.
Director Lorena García will be joining for a Skype conversation immediately following this screening.
This program is presented in conjunction with the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at Indiana University and is the first North American screening of this documentary.
