Introduction

horizontal rule

The following two links provide access to a complete listing of the magazines currently available for use at the Archives of Traditional Music:

JOURNALS FROM 1915-1999 | JOURNALS FROM 2000-PRESENT

The first link is to a listing of all journals held by the archives that were published between the years of 1915-1999 and includes both current and discontinued subscriptions. The second link to a listing of journals held by the archives that have been published since the year 2000. This second listing consists solely of current subscriptions and will continue to be updated in the future.

While there are future plans to catalog these periodicals on IUCAT, these listings are the only available source for browsing at present. There are some items in the collection, such as Christensen's Ragtime Review (1915) which are quite old and others, such as Basin Street, which are listed on very few searchable library catalogs.

All items may be accessed at the Archives of Traditional Music, but may not leave the Archives. Photocopies are available for $0.10 per page. Personal checks are accepted.

Those with any question or comments are welcome to contact the Archives.

Explanation of Listings

The name of each serial is listed in bold typeface with the range of volumes listed underneath. If entire volumes or a large number of individual issues are missing from our holdings, several ranges have been listed. Special publications such a bulletins, program notes, member directories, and indexes are also listed directly beneath the serial title. The second column represents the range in publication dates for that particular serial. Again, if there are significant gaps in the run of the serial, more than one range of dates will be listed to reflect this. The third column represents individual issues that are randomly missing from the range or very small gaps in our collection of that particular serial. "None Missing" indicates that no issues are missing from the listed range. "Missing: ???" indicates that not enough publication information was available to determine if issues were missing .

In summary, each entry is set up as follows:

Title of Serial
Vol. and Issue No. Range 1
Dates of Serial Range 1
Issue(s) Missing from Range 1
Vol. and Issue No. Range 2
Dates of Serial Range 2
Issue(s) Missing from Range 2
Special publication(s) within Journal
Vol. and No. of special pub.
Dates of spec. publication
