Faculty Standards Committee Proposal For Peer Review Process 1/3/01

PROPOSAL:

  1. The committee recommends that the grid should be simplified by eliminating multipliers.

  2. We believe that minor changes to the matrix will better recognize librarians' achievements in professional development, research and creativity without diminishing the high standards expected in the performance category. Specifically, we recommend the following changes to the matrix:

    1. An overall rating of III (currently II) for librarians who achieve a level II in performance AND who achieve a combined score of 6 or greater in professional development, research and/or creativity.
    2. An overall rating of IV (currently III) for librarians with a performance rating of III and a combined score of 8 in professional development, research and creativity.

  3. The committee also recommends that the grid be arranged so that performance levels are presented from I to IV rather
    than from IV to I.
