Document and Book Delivery

Delivery of books from the IU-Bloomington Libraries and articles from any library is provided free of charge to students enrolled in off-campus IU Bloomington courses, and PhD candidates who are enrolled for dissertation credit and do not reside near Bloomington. These services are available to support student initiated research, and are not intended to provide materials assigned for class that should normally be handled through course packets or reserves. Delivery of Bloomington-owned books can take two weeks or longer, so plan accordingly. Books and articles may be requested in the following ways:

  1. Students with access to the World Wide Web may request materials electronically by clicking on the Loan (Book) Request Form or Article Request Form below.
  2. Students without World Wide Web access may call 1-888-258-6977 to have request forms mailed to them. The forms should then be submitted to the address indicated.

Electronic Forms for Requesting Materials

  • Article Request Form

  • Loan (Book) Request Form

To borrow library materials, you must also have an IU Library Barcode. To request a Library Barcode please fill out this Request Form.

Important Information: loan periods, recalls, renewals, delivery, returning materials, charges, fines and fees.
