It was among those objects, that, during a two hour's walk,
the genera and species represented in the following list, were
found. Though observations in Lithology were varied and
interesting, space will not

45 admit of notes thereon. It may be added, that, while some
representatives of the fauna of the Upper Silurian were taken,
the list is confined to representatives only of the Lower Silurian.
What is herein presented gives but the most imperfect survey of
what is, in fact, one of the richest fields in the State of
Indiana.
