A publication that is not available in the IU Libraries can be requested through Interlibrary Loan. Once you have searched for the item using the IULink button, and searched for the title of the report in IUCAT, and checked with the Geology Library to see if the item is not cataloged but on the shelf, an item that is not owned can be requested through Interlibrary Loan.

If you go back to the record for that item in GeoRef, and click on the IULink button, you will see an option that says "This item may be available from another library via IU-Bloomington Document Delivery Service." If you click on the GO button next to this option, the information from the record will be copied into a web-based Interlibrary Loan form. Fill in the rest of the information on the form and submit the request to Document Delivery. Interlibrary loan requests may require 10 to 14 days or more to fill. Books will be delivered to the campus library of your choice (such as the Geology Library).

The Interlibrary Loan request form can also be accessed from the Geology Library home page using the link saying Request an Item through Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery. You will be prompted to supply your name, e-mail address and information about the publication or article needed.for use and check-out; journal articles are usually delivered electronically.
