Current Contents: Agriculture, Biology, & Environmental Sciences covers over 900 titles. Subjects include applied microbiology, biotechnology, ecology, entomology, forestry, mycology, ornithology, plant sciences, wildlife management, and zoology.

Current Contents: Life Sciences covers over 1200 journals in the life sciences. Subjects include biochemistry, cytology, endocrinology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology.

Current Contents: Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences Edition covers over 940 journals. Subjects include Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Polymer Science, and Spectroscopy/Instrumentation/Analytical Sciences


Current Contents: Social and Behavioral Sciences covers 1614 of the world's leading social and behavioral sciences journals and books in a broad range of categories. Includes articles, editorials, meeting abstracts, and commentaries.


IUB faculty and graduate students receive the results electronically of a weekly search of any Current Contents sections for the journal articles that match a customized profile. A librarian will help subscribers develop profiles bases on topics, journals, and authors. Citations found each week are sent to subscribers via e-mail. Faculty of 1000 is a literature awareness tool that highlights and reviews the most interesting papers published in the biological sciences, based on the recommendations of a faculty of well over 1000 selected leading researchers. These scientists provide a consensus map of the important papers and trends across biology and the life sciences. The major areas covered are biochemistry, bioinformatics, biotechnology, cell biology, chemical biology, developmental biology, evolutionary biology, genomics & genetics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, molecular medicine, neuroscience, plant biology, and structural biology. It highlights papers on the basis of their scientific merit rather than the journal in which they appear so is an alternative approach to ISI's Science Citation Index.

In addition to the standard search and browse features there is a 'Hidden Jewels' section featuring papers from lesser read journals and an e-mail alerting service in the 'My F1000" section.
