The Collections: IUCAT
IUCAT is the catalog for IU Libraries state-wide. It is the best place to begin a search for materials in the Lilly Library.
- How do I limit my search to just Lilly Library materials?
Select "Blmgtn - Lilly Library (B-LILLY)" in the 'library' drop-down list to limit your search to Lilly materials.
- What if I don't find what I am looking for?
Not all Lilly Library materials are in IUCAT yet. Approximately 45% of Lilly Library books are currently in the online catalog. For a comprehensive search, one must also check the printed card catalog housed in the Lilly Library Reading Room. Contact Public Services if you would like staff to do limited searching for you.
- The location in IUCAT says "Lilly Library-ALF". What does that mean?
Materials listed in the online catalog as located in "Lilly Library-ALF" are stored in the Auxiliary Library Facility. Lilly Library materials must be delivered to and used in the Lilly Library Reading Room. In most cases, materials will be available within 24 hours of the request.
- How do I request ALF materials?
In IUCAT, on the page desribing the item, click on the "Request this item" link next to the item's call number to access the request form. To request ALF materials when you do not have an email address, send an email to Public Services, at email@example.com.
For more detailed information, see Request Materials from the Auxiliary Library Facility.
