This first collection of Moore's poems was published without her knowledge by Hilda Doolittle (H.D.), Winifred Ellerman McAlmon (Bryher), and Robert McAlmon for Egoist Press. It earned a lukewarm reception from critics. Three years later, Moore would be able to publish a collection of her own design that was received much more positively, Observations.
