The transition to modern Germany : the eighteenth century
This catalogue describes an exhibition representing German culture of the eighteenth century. Through the chronological organization of materials, the exhibition depicts the transition of German authors from their dependence on other cultures at the beginning of the century to their growing prominence in the world by the end. The exhibition focuses on German literature, but also includes materials from disciplines such as music, philosophy, history, science, geography and pedagogy.
