Programs & Services: Friends of the Lilly Library
The Friends of the Lilly Library was formed in 1980 to encourage understanding and appreciation of the work of the Lilly Library. The association contributes to projects beyond the Library's normal resources, such as the commissioning of the special display case for permanent exhibition of the double elephant folio of the first edition of John James Audubon's Birds of America.
The Friends of the Lilly Library have played a major role in supporting conferences and programs for the Library and also in purchasing specialized equipment, supporting conservation projects, and contributing to the acquisition of books and manuscripts. Membership is open to all those who share an interest in the Lilly Library and the goals of the Friends.
