The illustration for the box is a fantastic example of Parker Brothers' game production, and helps make this one of the most sought after materials of Oziana.
Although illustrated by an unknown artist, portrayed are the celebrated characters Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion near the Emerald City. The characters on the game board more closely resemble the illustrations of John R. Neill, The Royal Illustrator of Oz.
Note the Fighting Trees off to the right.
A typical track game, the board represents a map of the Land of Oz. A veritable who's who of the various Oz characters from subsequent books are shown along the path which the players traverse to reach The Emerald City.
Shown below is a close–up of the game board. Notice The Woggle–Bug in the lower portion of the image.
Not only are the game box and board beautifully produced, but the rule booklet and pewter playing pieces are as well.
