BUNTING MSS. II
The Bunting mss. II, 1952-1960, consist of letters and postcards of author Lady Cynthia Mary Evelyn (Charteris) Asquith, 1887-1960, to author Daniel George Bunting, 1890- 1967. The letters are mostly of a social nature with numerous dining invitations from Asquith. The writings of both authors are discussed. The 1958-59 letters deal with Asquith's Married to Tolstoy (London: Hutchinson, 1960). One, dated Feb. 2, 1955, comments on Bunting's "The Woman in Black," a short story published in The Third ghost book (London: James Barrie, 1955) (Lilly PR1111 .G6 G5 vol. 3), edited by Asquith. Also mentioned are mutual friends and writers of the time.
An undated letter from Asquith to Bunting's wife, Mary Margaret (Whittle) Bunting, completes the collection.
