GILDER MSS.
The Gilder mss., ca. 1856-1940, consist of correspondence and papers of the Richard Watson Gilder family. Correspondents include writers, editors, politicians, artists, etc., in particular Frances Folsom Cleveland (Mrs. Grover Cleveland), Edith Hamilton, William Dean Howells, Edith Matilda Thomas, and George Woodberry. Most of the letters are addressed to Helena deKay Gilder (Mrs. Richard Watson Gilder), with many of the later files being those of daughter Rosamond Gilder. There are also some files, including a few manuscripts, relating to Century Magazine, of which R.W. Gilder was editor.
The collection is unarranged and uncataloged.
