The Gottschalk mss., 1935-1948, consist of correspondence between Louis Gottschalk, 1899-1975, historian, and Walter Pennett Gardner, 1869-1949, banker, concerning the collection of Lafayette manuscripts assembled by Gardner and about the organization of The American Friends of Lafayette.
