The Greenbie mss., 1950-1953, consist of correspondence and copies of correspondence of Mrs. Marjorie Latta (Barstow) Greenbie, 1891- , and Sydney Greenbie, 1889-1960, authors, with John Donald Barnhart, editor of the Indiana magazine of history, Herman B Wells, President, Indiana university, Fenwick Thomas Reed, asst. to the President, Indiana university, Herman Thompson Briscoe, dean, Indiana university and Robert Gerald McMurtry, director, dept. of Lincolniana, Lincoln memorial university, Harrogate, Tenn., in regard to Prof. Kenneth Powers Williams' article, "The Tennessee river campaign and Anna Ella Carroll," which appeared in the Indiana magazine of history, XLVI: [221]-48, Sept. 1950 and to Sydney Greenbie's "Reply to Kenneth Williams," which appeared in the Lincoln herald, LV: 37-41, Spring 1953.
