HAHN MSS. IV
The Hahn mss. IV, ca. 1934-1998, consist primarily of contracts and publication agreements relating to works by author Emily Hahn, 1905-1997. Some copyright certificates and several documents reverting rights from the publisher back to Hahn are also present.
Hahn's literary agent for nearly five decades was the firm of Brandt and Brandt in New York. Sometime in the mid-1980s she changed to Andrew Wylie of Wylie, Aitken & Stone, also in New York City. Following Hahn's death, her daughter and literary executor, Carola Vecchio, decided to "conclude the relationship with [the] agency in regard..." to her mother's work. The files present here are from the Andrew Wiley firm. Most of the materials, however, are actually from the Brandt and Brandt files that were turned over to Wylie when Emily Hahn changed agents.
A folder list of the collection is available.
