The Shelden mss., 1984-1987, consist of letters written to Michael Shelden, 1951- , professor, concerning the writer's relationship to, or reminiscences of, Cyril Connolly. Shelden was preparing a biography of Connolly, later published as Friends of promise: Cyril Connolly and the world of Horizon in 1989.
