THIEBAULT FAMILY MSS.

The Thiebault Family mss., 1733-1866, consist of letters, papers, travel journals, and writings of three generations of the Thiebault family. Included are papers of Dieudonne Thiebault, 1733-1807, a member of the faculty of the Ecole Militaire at Berlin and a friend of Frederick the Great; his son, General Paul Charles Francois Adrien Henri Dieudonne Thiebault, 1769-1846; and the general's son, Adolphe Thiebault, 1797-1875, an army instructor and amateur antiquarian.

The collection is presently in 23 volumes and uncatalogued; however, a description of the contents, prepared by Bernard Quaritch, Ltd. of London, is available for consultation and as a temporary finding aid.
