ABERCROMBIE MSS.

The Abercrombie mss., 1909-1938, consist of letters and writings of Lascelles Abercrombie, 1881-1938, poet.

The letters in the collection relate to Abercrombie's writings, their publication, reviews of them, printing directions, arrangements for lectures by him, and to the writings of others. They are addressed to Terence Ian Fytton Armstrong, who wrote under the pseudonym John Gawsworth; John Lane, publishers; Sir Michael Ernest Sadler; Matthew Phipps Shiel and others.

Abercrombie's writings included consist of two essays, "A personal note" and "Tess of D'Urbervilles - Jude the obscure," and a review of "The way of the lord," by Elizabeth Gibson Cheyne.
