Lilly Library Manuscript Collections

ADAMS, M. MSS.

The Adams, M. mss., 1954-1997, are the papers and correspondence of culinary author Marcia Adams of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The majority of the collection consists of copies of her outgoing letters, both personal and professional. There are also appearance or meeting schedules, interfiled chronologically with the correspondence; press kits and other publicity relating to her several cookbooks; a photo album and clippings relating to her television show in Fort Wayne in the late 1960s; and a baby book and other memorabilia, as well as letters from camp and school, of her son Gerard Paul Sicard. The only cookbook manuscript present is the copy-edited New Recipes from Quilt Country (New York: Clarkson N. Potter, 1997). There is also one folder of unpublished short stories written in the 1970s and probably for family entertainment as they are children's stories. Family photo albums from the 1950s and 60s and scrapbooks dating from the mid-50s through the mid-1990s, complete the collection.
