BARNSTONE, A. MSS.
The Barnstone, A. mss., 1968- , are the poems of Aliki Dora Barnstone, 1956- , poet. Born in Connecticut, the daughter of poet Willis Barnstone and painter Helle Barnstone, she accompanied her parents to Bloomington, Indiana, in 1962.
Aliki Barnstone began writing poetry when she was seven years old. Several of her poems appeared in print prior to the publication of her volume of verse, The Real Tin Flower, in 1968, when she was twelve.
The collection includes letters largely from editors and poets, among whom are Aliki Dora Barnstone, Sandra Blake, Gloria D. (Bradley) Duran, Edward Kern, Helen Lothrop, Juan Marichal, Solita Solinas Marichal, David Eugene Ray, Anne (Harvey) Sexton, Sally Sowell, George Starbuck, Carolyn Trager and Rosmarie Waldrop.
