The Barnstone mss., 1957- , consist of the correspondence and writings of Willis Barnstone, 1927- , poet, translator, and professor of Comparative Literature at Indiana University.

Writings present in the collection include manuscripts of books of poetry by Barnstone, as well as volumes edited by him; individual poems published in periodicals, reviews, or unpublished; plays and plays in verse translation; short stories; translations of individual poems by classical and contemporary poets from various languages; and miscellaneous prose writings including articles, critical reviews, introductions to books, etc. There are also a few manuscripts of writings by other poets, and some original sheet music for songs using lyrics by Willis Barnstone. A small group of printed materials consisting of lecture posters and clippings, complete the collection.
