BOEHM MSS.
The Boehm mss., 1992-2008, consist of translation drafts, page proofs, and correspondence relating to literary translations from German and Polish by noted American translator Philip Boehm. His translations include works by Franz Kafka, Christoph Hein, and Peter Schneider. Based in St. Louis, he is also a playwright and theater director. In 2004, Boehm received a PEN Translation Fund Grant for his translation of Christoph Hein's Settlement and the Texas Institute of Letters Award for his translation of Stefan Chwin's Death in Danzig; in 2007 he received the Ungar Translation Award from the American Translators Association.
