BOXER MSS. III
The Boxer mss. III, 1928-1999, consist of the correspondence, papers and memorabilia of historian Charles R. Boxer, 1904-2000.
The correspondence primarily concerns Boxer's academic research and career. The writings contain: drafts of his books, speeches, and articles, including an extensive file of his book reviews; notes, about 80 notebooks and research materials; drafts of articles and books by other writers. Also present are his personal calendars, photographs (mostly of his travels), and certificates and medals for such awards as Grand Cross of the "Ordem do Infante Dom Henrique" and the Grand Cross of the "Ordem Militar de Sant'Iago da Espada," both from the Portuguese government.
The collection is organized into the following series: I. Correspondence; II. Writings by Boxer; III. Writings by others; IV. Miscellaneous; V. Printed. An inventory is available.
