The Brock, G. mss., 2005-2007, consist of the literary translation manuscripts and papers of poet and translator Geoffrey Brock, who teaches Creative Writing and Translation at the University of Arkansas. His first book of poetry, Weighing Light, appeared in 2005. He is the translator of books by Cesare Pavese, Roberto Calasso, and Umberto Eco, as well as a new translation of Pinocchio (2009). His translations have received Poetry's John Frederick Nims Memorial Prize, the ATA's Lewis Galantière Award, the PEN Center USA Translation Award, the MLA's Lois Roth Award, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Translation Prize, and the Academy of American Poets' Raiziss/de Palchi Fellowship. A recent Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford, he has received fellowships from the NEA and the Guggenheim Foundation.
