BUNTING MSS.
The Bunting mss., 1946-1967, consist of letters and postcards from author William Charles Franklyn Plomer, 1903- 1973, to writer Daniel George Bunting, 1890-1967. Bunting, who published under the pseudonym Daniel George, was a reader for publisher Jonathan Cape, and Plomer frequently served as an "outside reader" for that same firm. The letters thus discuss many of the day-to-day activities and publishing projects of Jonathan Cape, Ltd., as well as a variety of literary figures. The later letters mention Bunting's failing health and the last two are actually addressed to his son, John Bunting.
Also present is an eleven page biographical piece on Plomer, purportedly written by Bunting but in Plomer's hand.
