The Cagle mss., 1964-1973, are the correspondence of Geoffrey Edward West Household, 1900-1988, novelist, Anais Nin, 1903-1977, author, Eric Honeywood Partridge, 1894-1979, author, and Ian Hamilton Finlay, 1925- , poet, with William Rea Cagle, 1933- , librarian at Lilly Library, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. The letters are concerned with the acquisition of the writers' correspondence and literary works for the Lilly Library. In addition Mr. Partridge gives the bibliographical details about many books of interest to the library. Other letters are those of Miss Nin to Herbert Faulkner West, 1898- , author, bookman, Feb. 18, 1973 (copy), about her Diaries, of Eileen M. Wrigglesworth to Mr. Cagle, May 14, 1968, related to the Partridge manuscripts, and of Susan Finlay to Mr. Cagle, Oct. 26, 1972, about a book shipment.
Printed materials include two reports reviewing the works of Anais Nin.
