E., 106th regiment, Indiana minute men, July 10, 1863; mustered out, July 15, 1863; commissioned as 1st assistant surgeon for 100 days in 139th regiment, Indiana volunteers, June 8, 1864, from Thorntown, Indiana; mustered out, Sept. 29, 1864; licensed as a physician at New Lisbon, Indiana, Oct. 11, 1864, and at Dublin, Indiana, Sept. 18, 1865; licensed as a retail merchant in partnership with Ehrhart, Dublin, Indiana, Sept. 25, 1865; president, Dublin agricultural company; died, May 19, 1905.
